Take Your Dog Training Knowledge and Practical Skills to the Next Level.
The DogNostics Journeyman Dog Training Course is a comprehensive standalone program and the second level of the DogNostics Dog Trainer Certificate (DN-DTC) Program.
While the course can be taken independently, we strongly recommend completing the Apprentice Course first, or ensuring you already possess equivalent knowledge and practical skills.
Journeyman has been designed for those who already understand the fundamentals of force-free dog training and are ready to deepen their knowledge, refine their practical skills, and become increasingly confident, thoughtful trainers.
Build on Strong Foundations
Outstanding trainers never stop learning.
The Journeyman Course expands upon the scientific principles and practical skills introduced in the Apprentice Course, taking you further into canine communication, learning theory, behavior analysis, training mechanics, reinforcement strategies, stimulus control, behavior modification, and professional problem solving.
Throughout the course you'll continue developing both your theoretical understanding and your practical ability to apply that knowledge confidently in real-world training situations.
Learn. Practice. Refine. Succeed.
Exceptional trainers don't simply understand how dogs learn - they know how to apply that knowledge with skill, precision, empathy, and excellent timing.
Throughout the Journeyman Course, you'll continue developing both the scientific understanding and the practical training skills needed to become a highly competent, force-free trainer. Each module builds upon the previous one, allowing your knowledge, practical skills, and confidence to continue growing together.
Learn With Personalized Instructor Feedback
Knowledge grows through study. Skills develop through practice and feedback.
Throughout the Journeyman Course, you'll complete progressively more advanced practical skill assessments designed to refine your training mechanics, observational skills, timing, and decision-making. Every submission receives personalized instructor feedback, celebrating what you've done well while providing constructive guidance to help you continue improving.
Our goal isn't simply to help you complete another course - it's to help you continue developing into an outstanding trainer.
Continue Your Professional Journey
The Journeyman Course is the second of three levels within the DogNostics Dog Trainer Certificate Program:
- Apprentice
- Journeyman
- Master
Each level builds systematically upon the knowledge and practical skills developed in the previous one, allowing you to progress steadily towards professional certification.
Successful completion of the Journeyman Course earns its own Course Attendance Certificate and prepares you for the final stage of the DTC program -the DogNostics Master Dog Training Course.
Students who successfully complete all three levels are eligible to sit the final online examination to earn the DogNostics Dog Trainer Certificate (DN-DTC) and the right to use the professional credential DN-DTC after their name.
Explore the Curriculum
The Journeyman Course contains an extensive collection of lessons, demonstrations, practical exercises, downloadable resources, knowledge assessments, and skill evaluations designed to help you refine your skills and think more critically as a trainer.
You'll explore topics such as canine communication, consent, learning theory, reinforcement strategies, behavior change, stimulus control, emotional responses, behavior modification, training mechanics, and much more, while continuing to build the practical skills that distinguish exceptional trainers.
Every lesson has been created with one goal in mind - to help you become an increasingly knowledgeable, skilled, and confident professional.
