Hello, and a very warm welcome!

I’m delighted to welcome you to the Journeyman Level of the DogNostics Dog Trainer Instructor Program. My name is Louise Stapleton-Frappell, and I will be guiding and supporting you throughout this next stage of your professional development.

At the Journeyman Level, we build on the foundations established in the Apprentice level course, and focus on developing fluency, consistency, and confident application of modern, force-free dog training principles. This level is designed for trainers who are ready to move beyond the basics and strengthen both their technical skills and professional judgement.

About the Journeyman Level

The DogNostics Dog Trainer Instructor Program is structured into three progressive levels:

• Apprentice
• Journeyman
• Master

You are currently enrolled in the Journeyman Level, which sits at the heart of the program and plays a key role in consolidating learning and expanding practical capability.

The Journeyman course consists of six modules, each of which includes:

• Structured, in-depth lessons
• Supportive documentation and reference materials
• E-learning videos
• Practical homework assignments designed to extend your skills and decision-making

Journeyman modules build on prior knowledge and place greater emphasis on application, problem-solving, and consistency across a range of training contexts.

What to Expect at Journeyman Level

As you progress through the Journeyman Level, you will:

• Strengthen your understanding of learning theory and training mechanics
• Develop greater confidence and fluency in practical training skills
• Receive personalized feedback on your skill submissions
• Engage with a supportive community of fellow students in the DogNostics Student Common Room on Facebook
• Receive a Journeyman Level Course Attendance Certificate on successful completion

For students who plan to continue, the Journeyman Level provides the necessary bridge toward the Master Level, where learning becomes more integrative and advanced.

Flexibility & Access

• You may begin the Journeyman Level as soon as your enrolment is confirmed.
• Students on a monthly subscription receive one module every 30 days; students who have paid in full receive immediate access to all Journeyman modules.
• You have 6 months to complete the Journeyman Level, working at your own pace within that timeframe.
• Coursework includes video lessons, readings, online knowledge tests, and practical skill submissions.

You’ll be supported throughout with direct instructor contact, clear feedback, and an encouraging professional learning environment.

Your Learning Experience

The Journeyman Level is practical, engaging, and skills and knowledge-focused. Assignments are designed to reflect real-world training challenges and to help you build confidence in your ability to train effectively, ethically, and thoughtfully.

Whether you’re working with your own dog, client dogs, or dogs in a professional or shelter setting, the work you complete at this level will strengthen your consistency, timing, and training clarity.

As with all DogNostics programs, you’re joining a community that values collaboration, reflection, and force-free practice.
