Hello, and a very warm welcome!

I’m delighted to have you join us at the Apprentice Level of the DogNostics Dog Trainer Instructor Program. My name is Louise Stapleton-Frappell, and I’ll be guiding and supporting you throughout this first stage of your learning journey.

I have a deep passion for helping dogs and their guardians thrive together, and I’m equally passionate about supporting trainers who want to build strong, ethical, and effective skills rooted in modern, force-free practice. Whether you’re completely new to dog training or looking to strengthen your foundations, you’re in exactly the right place.

The Apprentice Level has been carefully designed to give you a solid grounding in both the theory and practice of modern dog training, setting you up with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to progress - whatever your future goals may be.

About the Apprentice Level

The DogNostics Dog Trainer Instructor Program is structured into three progressive levels:

• Apprentice
• Journeyman
• Master

You are currently enrolled in the Apprentice Level, which focuses on building strong foundations and core competencies.

The Apprentice course consists of six modules, and each module includes:

• Engaging, easy-to-follow lessons
• Supportive written resources
• E-learning videos
• Practical homework assignments to help you apply what you’re learning in real-world settings

Each module builds logically on the last, allowing you to develop skills steadily and confidently.

During the Apprentice Level, you will:

• Build a clear understanding of learning theory and ethical training principles
• Begin developing practical, hands-on training skills
• Receive personalized feedback on your skill submissions
• Join a supportive learning community in the DogNostics Student Common Room on Facebook
• Receive a certificate of attendance on successful completion of the Apprentice Level

Should you choose to continue later, the Apprentice Level provides the foundation for progression into Journeyman and Master levels - but there is no obligation to decide that now.

Flexibility & Access

• You can begin as soon as you enrol.
• Students on the monthly subscription receive one module every 30 days, while those who pay in full gain immediate access to all Apprentice modules.
• You have 6 months to complete your enrolled level, learning at your own pace within that timeframe.
• Coursework includes video lessons, readings, online tests, and practical skill submissions.

You’ll be supported throughout your learning with direct instructor contact, clear feedback, and a positive, encouraging student community.

Your Learning Experience

From the very beginning of the Apprentice Level, this program is designed to be interactive, practical, and relevant. You’ll be developing real-world skills supported by sound science and humane training practices.

Whether you’re working with your own dog, a client’s dog, or a shelter dog, each assignment is designed to build confidence, competence, and clarity in your training approach.
